Our Story

It started with a conversation.

Two women. Two continents. One shared conviction: that a child's access to music, art, fashion, and design should never depend on where they were born or what their family can afford.

One, an entrepreneur with a career spanning entertainment, music, real estate, and fintech. The other, a renowned classical pianist and high-end audio icon based in the Netherlands. Both had spent their lives immersed in the worlds of music and creative expression. They had seen firsthand what happens when a young person picks up an instrument for the first time, stands in front of a canvas, or walks a runway they were never supposed to reach. They also saw how many never get the chance.

Creativity is not a privilege. Yet for many children around the world, it remains out of reach.

The spark came from a mutual desire to change the status quo, one child, one musician, one artist, one fashion designer at a time. They knew that together, and with the support of other like-minded people, they could make a difference.

Photo · The Founders

That conviction found a kindred spirit in My Lima Lima, the Netherlands-based nonprofit that uses fashion to raise awareness and funding for good causes. My Lima Lima's ethos lives in three words: Give to Empower. The founders asked if they could expand on that principle, not just in one country, but across continents. They envisioned a bridge between the United States and the Netherlands, a global platform dedicated to opening doors for the next generation of artists, musicians, and designers. Inspired by the words GIVE TO EMPOWER, a movement was born.

GIVE TO EMPOWER is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit expanding access to music, creative arts, fashion, and design education for underserved youth in New York City and beyond.
